Booking RAYNET

Although North Dyfed and Powys RAYNET work very closely together, and often run events jointly, please approach the group that is closest to the location of your event.

Please note that whilst organisations running events can approach us directly, in normal situations, RAYNET will require one of the 'User Services' as outlined in the Amateur Radio Licence document to be part of your event support, these are organisations such as St John Ambulance, British Red Cross, Dyfed Powys Police, Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust, if one of these organisations is not involved with your event, then RAYNET may have to approach the Local Authority Emergency Planning Officer to get permission to support you, it is particularly important that you contact us early on so we can do this. (See below for a complete list of User Services)

Costs

RAYNET is a charity and we are reliant on the income from events to pay towards members mileage and other essential expenses. We would normally expect an organisation that we support to cover all the expenses claimed by our members for the event and provide a donation for our ongoing costs. If your event is raising money for a charity, frequently our members will decide to not claim expenses and support your charity in this way, however our members always have the right to claim expenses. We would normally be able to give a reasonable estimate of the likely expenses being claimed before the event is booked, once we know how many members are needed and where the event is taking place.
